A Day in the Life of a Republic Member

When searching for cellular service, many people wonder how different providers compare to each other across a variety situations and environments on any given day.

To give you an idea about how Republic meets challenges and provides solutions across the activities of a normal day – as compared to traditional cellular service – we present “A Day in the Life.” This comparison of services will give you a better idea of how Republic is different, committed to helping customers save money, and isn’t afraid to think outside of the box.

9:30 AM

A dropped call

Traditional Cell Service

All-too-frequently, users of traditional cellular service encounter dead zones – where calls suddenly drop off when network coverage is interrupted.

Republic Wireless

Republic uses WiFi for calls or texts when it’s available. And when it’s not, it seamlessly switches to cell coverage delivered from other networks for clearer, more consistent coverage. Unlike other phones, Republic unlocks the ability to use WiFi, not just for Internet use, but for calls and texts too. Using the power of WiFi, you’ll extend the places you can make calls – and expand the savings on your phone bill.

Trying to save more money on your data plan

Traditional Cell Service

Trying to save money on your data plan with the traditional carriers can be a challenge. For reference, AT&T’s cheapest phone plan starts at $30 a month for a bucket including 1GB of data plus a “device access charge”, who knows what that is?

Republic Wireless

With Republic, you can get 1GB of data for $20 without a “device access charge” or any other hidden fees. Also, if you need more data for a week or two, you can switch to a plan with more data with no penalty – and once things are back to normal, you can switch back.

2:30 PM

Spotty cellular coverage

Traditional Cell Service

The most featured-loaded phone on the market won’t get you anywhere if you can’t get data or voice service. Network strength is incredibly variable, and can change by time of day, weather and even where you are inside or outside a building. And since carriers upgrade their networks or adjust their towers all the time, you can never really be sure whether or not you have coverage.

Republic Wireless

Republic’s  Adaptive Coverage™technology, enabled with Bonded Calling™, will automatically blend your calls over available WiFi and your phone’s cellular data networks together for more consistent coverage in more places. If a quality issue is detected, Republic “patches” the call with one of your phone’s other data networks before your ear even hears it.

5:00 PM

Weak WiFi signal at home

Traditional Cell Service

If your home’s WiFi drops out, so does your ability to use WiFi for data on a traditional carrier. A few nights’ worth of web surfing and texting can easily add up.

Republic Wireless

Adaptive Coverage™ technology is our unique approach for maximum voice quality and coverage. This patented tech continuously uses data packets to bond WiFi with your phone’s 3G or 4G LTE data networks when WiFi strength is degraded. Republic’s highly optimized handover algorithms can seamlessly switch calls between WiFi and cell voice networks, including free cellular voice roaming

Republic Wireless has the technology and innovative ideas to help our users save more money and consistently enjoy using their wireless phone services. Learn more about how Republic is committed to finding new ways to deliver affordable and reliable phone service to our customers.

  1. My Republic phone actually goes through days when it drops calls every fifteen minutes on the dot. Other days it’ll go longer, but still drops calls frequently. I love the price, though.
